a. Amazon VAT Calculation Service:
If you are using the free Amazon VAT Calculation Service, taxomate will pull in the total amount collected through the Tax account.
If you would like to use with QuickBooks VAT Centre, you may need to map to the VAT Control (liability) account. Additionally, there are a few tweaks to the tax codes you made need to make. Please consult an accountant if you are unsure of how to use.
b. Tax Code Mapping
If you are not using Amazon VAT Service, you can still calculate your VAT amounts using Tax Code Mapping.
On the Mappings page scroll to the bottom and select Enable Tax Code Mapping.
For each transaction type you will see a Selected Tax Rate option.
Select the proper VAT Code for each transaction type.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Update Mappings.
Please Note: Selecting the proper VAT Code often depends on the jurisdiction of the sale and business. taxomate cannot provide guidance on which VAT code to select. Please contact an accountant if you are at all confused or need guidance.
