Product Groups let you group SKUs together so Taxomate can apply product-specific accounts, tax rates, and tracking categories/classes when your payouts or settlements are processed.
For UK and EU sellers, Product Groups are commonly used for products that do not use the standard VAT rate, such as zero-rated or reduced-rated products.
Open Taxomate.
Go to Accounts & Taxes.
Select Manage Product Groups.
From this page, you can create Product Groups, update existing groups, assign accounts, assign tax rates, assign tracking categories/classes, and assign SKUs to each group.

Where to find the Product SKUs tab
Select Create Product Group to add a new group.
For each Product Group, you can choose one or more of the following options:
Set Account to post the Product Group to a specific account in your accounting software.
Set Tax to apply a specific tax rate or VAT code.
Set Tracking Category to apply a class, location, or tracking category, depending on your accounting software.
Update Name to rename the group.
If you completed quick setup for Amazon UK or EU VAT, Taxomate may already show Product Groups such as reduced-rated or zero-rated products.
Open Manage Product Groups.
Select the Product SKUs tab.
Find the SKU you want to update.
Select the Product Group control on that SKU row.
Choose the correct Product Group.
Use the search box if you need to find a specific SKU.
Use the bulk CSV upload when you need to assign many existing SKUs to existing Product Groups at once.
Open Manage Product Groups.
Select the Product SKUs tab.
Select Download Template.
Fill in the CSV with your SKUs and Product Group names.
Select Upload CSV.
Review the preview table.
If the preview looks correct and there are no errors, select Apply Mappings.

CSV upload preview panel
The CSV has these columns:
sku - the SKU that already exists in Taxomate.
product_group - the exact name of the Product Group that already exists in Taxomate.
channel - optional. Leave blank to apply the mapping to every matching SKU. Enter a channel only when you want to target one marketplace or sales channel.
Example:
sku,product_group,channel
ABC-123,Reduced VAT,
DEF-456,No VAT,shopifyMost customers should leave channel blank. This applies the Product Group to every matching SKU across marketplaces or channels. Use the channel column only if you need the same SKU mapped differently for a specific sales channel.
You can upload up to 1,000 rows at a time.
After you upload a CSV, Taxomate shows a preview before anything is changed.
The preview includes:
Updates - rows that will change an existing SKU mapping.
Unchanged - rows that already match the selected Product Group.
Errors - rows that need to be fixed before applying.
Matched SKUs - the number of SKUs found in Taxomate.
The preview table also shows the current Product Group, proposed Product Group, number of matches, status, and any row-level error.

Preview table and SKU rows
If the preview shows errors, fix the CSV and upload it again.
Common issues include:
The SKU does not exist in Taxomate.
The Product Group name does not match an existing Product Group.
A required column is missing.
More than 1,000 rows were uploaded.
The channel value does not match the SKU's sales channel.
Taxomate will not apply the CSV until the preview is valid.
Bulk upload only assigns existing SKUs to existing Product Groups. It does not create new SKUs.
Bulk upload does not create new Product Groups. Create the Product Group first, then upload the CSV.
Leave the channel column blank unless you need channel-specific mappings.
Changes affect how Taxomate groups SKU activity when payouts or settlements are processed. They do not automatically edit entries that have already been sent to your accounting software.
If you are unsure which Product Group or tax rate to use, we recommend checking with your accountant or bookkeeper.
